Problems and Solutions

If you already have a regular appointment scheduled, and something is loose or broken, please call the office ahead of time and tell us. Your appointment may have to be re-scheduled or extended to allow enough time for the repair.

What Do I Do If...
If a band comes off...	A band is the metal ring which is placed on the back molars. If one comes off, please call the office for an appointment, and bring the band with you.
If a bracket (brace) comes off...	Please call the office. It is not necessary to bring the brace with you.
If a wire is poking you...	Please call the office. We will schedule you immediately.
If you lose or break your retainer...	Please call the office. You will need two appointments; one to have a new impression taken, and one to come in to have to retainer fitted and adjusted.
If an expander seems to be slipping, or if a "wing" on an expander chips...	Please call the office.

Emergency patients can be seen immediately to be made comfortable. Please call beforehand so that we can schedule an appointment for you.

Both doctors are always on call when the office is closed. Their home phone numbers are on our answering machine recording when you call the office after hours. Both doctors are on call the majority of the time, unless one or both of them are out of town, in which case an orthodontic assistant will be on call.
